In the Megami Tensei franchise, "demon" refers to any supernatural entity that can bring harm to human beings or interfere with their lives in one way or another. This includes more conventional malevolent demons, folktale creatures, deities, and Judeo-Christian angels.

A staple gameplay feature of the series is the ability to negotiate with and/or recruit demons as allies and party members, usually through the use of some type of Demon Summoning Program; many demons will request Items or Macca in exchange for their services. In some games, summoned most demons require Magnetite in order to maintain their corporeal forms; without a constant supply they will lose HP with each step.

Name(s): Nekomata, Neko, Katsyne (Alias while in human form, a name that seems to be sticking....)

Katsyne is one such Original demon of this franchise inspired from the Persona 2 variant of the Nekomata. These days she works for Stratos Caelus (auspex_caelo) and spends a lot of her time on Nirn working for the battlemage toward his own ends either as a spy or in his stead with her illusions. She's pretty careful not to let her boss find out too much what she gets up to when she's not on duty however...
